Introduction
Microphone Test (mictest.vip) is built with privacy in mind. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the site.
Information We Process
Microphone Audio
When you click Start, the site requests microphone permission from your browser. Audio is processed locally in your browser (for the live meter, waveform visualization, and optional recording). We do not upload or store your microphone audio on our servers.
Device Labels (If Available)
After you grant permission, your browser may reveal microphone device names (labels). These labels are used only to populate the input device selector and on-page diagnostics. They are not uploaded.
Basic Usage Data
We collect aggregated usage metrics (such as page views) to understand which tools people open and to fix problems. These measurements do not include your microphone audio.
Feedback You Submit
If you use the feedback form, we collect the feedback category, message, optional email address, page URL, site language, and basic route context that you submit with the form. This information is used to review bugs, answer questions, and improve the site. Feedback is sent to our self-hosted Feedback Hub on Cloudflare Workers and stored in Cloudflare D1. Email notifications may be sent through our configured Cloudflare email service.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for measurement and advertising.
Pageview and Microsoft Clarity measure which pages are opened and how the tools are used. They do not receive your microphone audio.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Data Retention
We do not retain your microphone audio. Any optional recording file is generated locally on your device and only saved if you download it. Feedback submissions are retained only as long as needed to review and respond to them. Server logs may temporarily store standard request metadata (IP address, user agent) for security and abuse prevention.
Security
All traffic is served over HTTPS to protect data in transit.
Third-Party Services
We use Google AdSense to show ads, Pageview and Microsoft Clarity to measure site use, and Cloudflare to host the site, store feedback, and send email. None of these services receive your microphone audio or recordings.
Children’s Privacy
This service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new date.
